Installation Procedure Tools Required J Accessory Drive Belt Tensioner Wrench Caution: To avoid personal injury when rotating the accessory drive belt tensioner, use a tight fitting 13 mm wrench that is at least 46 cm 18 in long. All rights reserved. Use J in order to install the accessory drive belt by rotating the tensioner.
Disconnect the negative battery cable. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement. Remove the generator assembly. Refer to Generator Replacement in Engine Electrical.
Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the oil filter. Remove the tensioner. Installation Procedure 6. Position it aside.
Install the tensioner. Install the oil filter. Lower the vehicle. Install the generator assembly. Install the drive belt. Connect the negative battery cable. Remove the idler pulley bracket and bolts. Remove the idler pulley. Installation Procedure Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure.
Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems. Install the idler pulley. Install the idler pulley bracket and bolts. Remove the one bolt attaching the coolant recovery tank.
Remove the coolant recovery tank and position it aside. Install the J and raise the engine off of the mount. Remove the nuts holding the mount to the body.
Remove the bolts holding the engine bracket to the mount. Remove the engine mount assembly. J Engine Support Fixture 1.
Install the engine mount assembly. Install the nuts holding the mount to the body. Do not tighten. Install the bolts holding the engine bracket to the mount. Tighten Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Remove the J Install the coolant recovery tank. Remove the right front splash shield.
Remove the engine mount strut bolts. Remove the engine mount strut. Install the engine mount strut. Install the engine mount strut bolts. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location.
Install the right front splash shield. Disconnect the following electrical connectors: 3. Remove the air cleaner duct.
Remove the accelerator control cable bracket. Remove the stud ended generator mount bolt. Remove the intake manifold support brace. Remove the intake manifold retaining nuts and bolts. Remove the intake manifold and the gasket. Installation Procedure Important: The engine and the manifold should be at ambient temperature when assembled. Do not attempt to install a cold manifold on a hot engine. Install the intake manifold and the gasket. If the gasket is damaged, install a new one with the stamped numbers facing towards the manifold surface.
Install the intake manifold fasteners. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Install the intake manifold brace. Finger start all bolts. Tighten 5. Install the stud ended generator mount bolt. Install the accelerator control cable bracket.
