Possesses general knowledge in classical mechanics, optics, electromagentism and thermodynamics. Knows and understands basic laws of classical and modern physics. Can analyse and solve problems in mechanics, optics, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, modern physics, and quantum physics using known theorems and methods.

Lecture: 1. Vector calculus: vector and scalar. Operations on vectors: dot product and cross product. Vector identities. Kinematics in Cartesian reference system. Kinematics parameters: velocity and acceleration. One and two dimensional motion. Circular motion. Curvature and radius of curvature. Kinematics in radial reference system. Radial components of velocity and acceleration. Special theory of relativity - kinematics: Galilean and Lorentz transformation, Minkowski's space-time, space-time interval, time dilation, length contraction, relativistic Doppler effect.
Non-relativistic transformation of velocity and acceleration from stationary to moving system, types of accelerations: d'Alambert, Coriolis and centrifugal. Description of the body movement at the Earth surface. Basics of general relativity.
