All mine are in plain steel TO-3s. They may be phony or remarked parts from a second or third rate manufacturer.
First off, I'd test the gate-source pins to make sure the things are even mosfets. If they were really IR product, why would they need re-marking? The only legitimate parts I've seen in those TO-3 packages are parts from vendors like Toshiba and Sanken from back in the '80s. Thank everyone ,I had read all reply though my poor Enlish, maybe MR.
Attached Images As far as I know, IR never used the mil pins large size on anything smaller than their size 5 die, so the part with the big pins could be a re-marked IRF or IRF, for that matter.
The parts with the "figure 8" inserts are probably re-marked Japanese mosfets and not IR product at all. Will they work in the same application? Try them and see. Hence it is commonly used with microcontrollers to drive with 5V. Adding to that it also has a low Rds value which will help in increasing the efficiency of switching circuits. If the mosfet has to be driven directly from a microcontroller like Arduino then try the logic level version IRLZ44N mosfet. Meaning, they can be turned on or turned off by supplying the required Gate threshold voltage VGS. When a gate voltage is applied these pins gets closed. If it is required to be switched with Arduino, then a simple drive circuit using a transistor will work to provide the required gate voltage to trigger the MOSFET to open fully. Then it will not open completely and the maximum drain current will depend on the voltage applied to the gate pin.
